The antenna is designed for use in the Very Low Frequency band. It is a wide band antenna for the frequency range of 2 Kilohertz to 10 Kilohertz (KHz). Impedance varies by frequency. See chart.
The antenna has a cut-off point starting around 1.2 KHz. The brown area on chart is signal loss (power line hum rejection area). Yellow area on chart is the sensitive reception band of 2 KHz to 10 KHz. This is the band where most of the natural radio waves are found: Tweeks, Whistlers, Dawn Chourus, and other natural radio wave emissions.
The antenna has an impedance of 1000 ohms at 2 KHz, and 4700 ohms at 10 KHz. It is a good match for microphone inputs of portable audio amplifiers and tape recorders to allow listening directly to the VLF audio range waves. Acoustic energy of 2 KHz to 10 KHz falls within the range of human hearing.
Sales to USA and Canada only.
