Unlike other lightning detectors there is no need to mount it high up on a pole. Just mount it like you would a rain gauge, about 3 to 5 feet above ground level.

There are several ways to mount the lightning sensor: Any camera tripod, a PVC Plastic Pole, or standard metal pole. Comes with threaded camera tripod adapter, and PVC Pole adapter, and U-Bolt Clamp. You can mount it 3 different ways, which ever is best for you!

The lightning detector is at home both when mounted permanently or when operated portable on any inexpensive camera tripod like the one shown (tripod not included). You can adjust the detection range by increasing or decreasing the height of the tripod.
