Humidity Meters - Measure the moisture content of the air.
How dry? How damp? A Humidity Meter will measure it!
HUMIDITY METERS

WOW! LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THESE INSTRUMENTS!

We have really BIG hygrometers. These HUGE humidity weather instruments have dials that are 4 inches across! These are made in America from fine metals and real glass. Not plated metals! Not scratchy plastic! Big is better! Easy to read from a distance! Shown reading 52% humidity at the time of this photo. Model # H-6 (brass).

These weather instruments are available in copper, brass, or stainless steel. No protective laqure finish is used so the copper and brass instruments will develop their own individual surface lusterous character over time. The stainless steel will continue to shine, its stainless steel after all!

The real glass front cover will not yellow or decompose in outdoor conditions, its real glass, not plastic!

Mount one of these humidity meters outdoors on your window sill to monitor outdoor humidity, or place it inside your weather instrument shelter to monitor humidity.

Real mechanical weather instruments like these will give you dependable weather readings for years without worry about electronic malfunctions or inaccuracy due to battery voltage decay, etc.

Model # H-6 (brass) $ 35.00 + $ 15.00 s/h.

This hygrometer is brass, uses a 4.25 inch diameter dial face and is great for monitoring greenhouses, sunrooms or problem areas. Included is an outdoor swivel arm bracket for mounting at just the right angle, as well as an indoor mounting pin. The brass will develop its own unique luster with age. Hygrometers measure the moisture content of the air to determine the relative humidity. Our mechanical hygrometers take advantage of a time-tested method in which a synthetic fiber expands as it absorbs moisture from the air. This expansion, in turn, moves the metal coil to which it is bonded. As the coil twists, the pointer moves up the scale. As the fiber dries, the coil contracts and the pointer reverses direction. Relative humidity ranging from 45% to 70% is generally considered to be comfortable. Use in combination with a humidifier or de-humidifier to maximize your comfort.

Model # H-6C (copper) $ 35.00 + $ 15.00 s/h.

This hygrometer is copper, uses a 4.25 inch diameter dial face and is great for monitoring greenhouses, sunrooms or problem areas. Included is an outdoor swivel arm bracket for mounting at just the right angle, as well as an indoor mounting pin. The copper will develop its own unique luster with age. Model # H-6SS (stainless steel) $ 35.00 + $ 15.00 s/h.

This hygrometer is stainless steel, uses a 4.25 inch diameter dial face and is great for monitoring greenhouses, sunrooms or problem areas. Included is an outdoor swivel arm bracket for mounting at just the right angle, as well as an indoor mounting pin. The stainless steel will retain its luster with age. Why do I need a hygrometer?

Humidity is the amount of water vapor present in the air. Obtaining accurate readings of humidity may be helpful for protecting fine furniture, musical instruments, heirloom plants and the health of your family. The extremes of humidity affect the way you feel and damage valuable goods. Too much moisture in the air can promote the growth of allergy-provoking mold. Too little can be harmful to skin and breathing passages and may harm wood and electronics.

When considering your comfort level, you must also consider that how warm or cold it feels does not depend on temperature alone. When the air is warm, temperature and humidity combine to produce the heat index, a measure of how warm it feels outside. In warm weather, the air holds more moisture, which makes the air feel hotter than it actually is. Conversely, introducing a little humidity to the indoors during winter may improve your comfort level.
